Just Bee

Thomas has discovered the joys of insects. Since his vocabulary is still kind of limited every bug is called a Bee. I caught a bee for him and put it in a jar. He just loved this. In fact when I asked him if we should let the bee go now, he hugged the jar with the bee like it was his new best friend then walked into the other room. He eyed me suspiciously when I followed him.
Sorry Bee you will have to endure a little more shaking..... Later I decided that a cooped-up bee and a glass jar was not such a good idea.

Visit to St. Louis

Up to St.Lois to visit Andrew and Tiffany we go. And what a treat it was. Fire trucks and pizza.... laughs and Thomas' crafting.
The fire truck was cleaning the street and had it's ladder fully extended. Thomas' eyes were as big as saucers.
Saturday nap time gave us a surprise. We put the pack'n'play in Andrew's Guest room closet which has always worked till now. There was a draw filled with craft items of Tiffany's just within reach that I totally did not even think about. Well Thomas did.
When I went in to check on him ... he was sitting up in his pack'n'play one fist full of open markers and the other fist on the blade of open scissors. Some how nothing was marked on but there were several holes in the netting on the sides of the pack'n'play. He gave me this look that says, " Is this back or ... good.... what do you think Mom?" I just had to laugh.... I wish I had taken a picture. It was just hilarious.
Our little Artist

We love hand-me-downs! Our Neighbor has a son who is 4 years old and we have been reaping the benefits of his disinterest in "baby toys". We were given this wonderful easel set and Thomas uses it almost every day. Thank God chalk washes off everything .... even white shirts.
The other day I found him talking to the chalk then turning to the chalk board and chattering to it. This went on for some time and then in a sudden eruption the chalk attacked the board. There was yelling and violent thrashing then almost as fast complete calm chattering was resumed. The only evidence of the attack was the explosion of color on the board. I wish I could understand what he was saying so much. But till then I am assuming that the chalk and board were telling Your Mama jokes to each other and one turned sour.

Our little Picaso

The world of crayons and colored pencils has opened a whole new world to Thomas. He loves to draw. We have a cardboard box that he has claimed and is rarely without a crayon to draw on it or any paper he can find. He knows just where the pencils and crayons are and drags the box around the house with him. The picture above is him getting into the colored pencil container on top of his drawing box.
