Thomas' 2nd Birthday

We decorated the screened in porch with balloons and streamers and tied a plastic bug at the ends of balloons to give away to the kids as party favors. They loved picking out one to take home.

I don't think Thomas realized the party was all about him till he blew out the candle and everyone clapped.

The New House

Yippee! What an upgrade this house is. The story of this house goes like this. We were looking for a 3 bed 2 bath house in Cookeville, where Chris will start his new job. The house we found and liked turned out to be one of those, "I have a bad feeling about this " kind of thing. Thankfully we did not get that 3 bed 2 bath house cause God had this 4 bed, 5 bath, 3 kitchen, 3 car garage with a pool all ready for us.

We are renting from a friend who was having trouble selling in this market. We had only been inside once or twice before and only in the front part of the house. We really did not know what the house was like and there were no pictures of it at all. When we pulled up in the Uhaul it was like checking out a vacation house. We could not believe how awesome it was. Plus it was partially furnished. Big plus because I certainly did not have enough furniture to put in this large a house. The whole thing has been such a blessing strait from God.

Then here is the crazy part. Several months earlier, before Chris even got a job in Cookeville, I had been praying about where we were going to move too. That night I dreamt we were living in Bob Mumfords house. In the morning I told Chris how funny it would be if we ended up on Bob's street (he was still living in the house at the time). Well God was more literal than I thought. S

Loving a Daddy hug

Congratulations Chris

Chris I am so proud of you. Four years of residency and you are finally done! It was so much fun to go to his graduation dinner and have fellows he has worked with come up to me to say how much they enjoyed working with him and how they could tell he genuinely cared for his patients. I could not have been more proud.

Painting outdoors

It was just easyer to start off with him naked.

Chris taking apart the Corsica

God knows why Chris loves his 1983 Corsica because I don't. He constructed a tent to take off the steering wheal in the hot Memphis sun to fix one tiny little part that had broken. The process took 3 days and 40 screws latter success. The Man can fix anything. But I have to wonder: Should he just because he can?

Grandparents visit

My mom and dad came to visit and I realised after they left that we had not taken any picture of their visit. :( Thees are pics my mom took of Thomas playing in the park playground by our house. So you will just have to imagine all the wonderful things we did and places we went.

We did see Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers perform at the Orpheum. Very cool. Great music and of course very funny. And seeing it with my parents made it even better. It was wonderful to get to hang out with them. Thanks for making the long trip down to see us.

Caught in the act

I caught Thomas filling up an old medicine bottle in the toilet and dumping it into the trash. He was so cute and the seen so funny I just had to let him do it one more time.

Funny: Before I married Chris his mom told me about a similar incident involving putting things in the toilet. Hummm.

The Bee Song

Summer fun

Just Bee

Thomas has discovered the joys of insects. Since his vocabulary is still kind of limited every bug is called a Bee. I caught a bee for him and put it in a jar. He just loved this. In fact when I asked him if we should let the bee go now, he hugged the jar with the bee like it was his new best friend then walked into the other room. He eyed me suspiciously when I followed him.

Sorry Bee you will have to endure a little more shaking..... Later I decided that a cooped-up bee and a glass jar was not such a good idea.

Visit to St. Louis

Up to St.Lois to visit Andrew and Tiffany we go. And what a treat it was. Fire trucks and pizza.... laughs and Thomas' crafting.

The fire truck was cleaning the street and had it's ladder fully extended. Thomas' eyes were as big as saucers.

Saturday nap time gave us a surprise. We put the pack'n'play in Andrew's Guest room closet which has always worked till now. There was a draw filled with craft items of Tiffany's just within reach that I totally did not even think about. Well Thomas did.

When I went in to check on him ... he was sitting up in his pack'n'play one fist full of open markers and the other fist on the blade of open scissors. Some how nothing was marked on but there were several holes in the netting on the sides of the pack'n'play. He gave me this look that says, " Is this back or ... good.... what do you think Mom?" I just had to laugh.... I wish I had taken a picture. It was just hilarious.
